Mumbai, India (03/03/09) :- Hikal Ltd, the preferred long-term outsourcing partner for leading global life sciences companies, and Bombay Gymkhana today announced the 8th Hikal Cup Corporate Invitation Tennis Tournament to be held from March 6-8, 2009.
A record 40 teams, representing the country’s leading corporate houses will vie for honours in this unique three-day competition. Hikal Cup has received an overwhelming response with multiple entries from notable corporate houses such as Reliance Industries (2008 winners), Yogeshwar International (2008 runners up), Bharat Petroleum, HSBC, Standard Chartered, Bank of America, Tata Consultancy Services and Tata Power amongst others.
Each corporate team in the Hikal Cup will comprise a minimum of two players and a maximum of four players. The tournament will be played on a knock-out basis with each team playing two singles and one doubles match. The semi-finals and finals will be held on Sunday, March 8, 2009.

Bombay Gymkhana is the home of tennis in Maharashtra and perhaps India in as much as Mumbai is the gateway to India. The very first tennis association was set up at the gymkhana in the early 1900s. It was only in 1958 that the Maharashtra State Lawn Tennis Association moved to its present location at the Cooperage in Mumbai.
